When giving money for this occasion, keep in mind that the recipient is going to be starting a new, hectic life soon. Stay within your budget, but probably go a little higher than you would or other events like birthdays. $50 is a great start for any budget!

Give an amount you can afford. Twenty dollars is a good amount. Five and ten dollars often seems like an insult or not worth the time. If you cannot afford twenty dollars a good gift would work well. People tend to give more to kids that are close to them.
