The Beatles have sold more albums than any other group in history. There is an unofficial claim that they sold somewhere between 600 million and 1 billion records, however the actual number of certified sales is around 230 million albums worldwide, and 200 million in the US alone. Elvis is second at 190 million, and Michael Jackson ~150 million.

According to the RIAA: 177 Million certified Album sales (USA only). Per Apple Corps (The Beatles-owned label) 600 Million Records, Tapes, CD's (worldwide). Per Wikipedia, EMI said the number is in excess of 1.3 Billion - but that probably is converting to "singles equivalents."

They sold over 500 MILLION albums. They are a big hit sensation from the past and as a result its hard to say. I would say easily over 500 million albums. I wonder what you think is the right amount. There is no perfect amount regarding that but its around 500 million for sure.
