The average in 2008 was 156,000 per day (commercial flights only) Considering that the average for commercial plane crashes in the US between 2002-2008 is 185 (total) (compare that to daily car crashes! )and 10,000 bags are lost per day in US flights, that really gives us food for thought and a lot of statistics for bar bets!

Every day the numbers vary. Its not an exact figure to give. But on an average around 25000 to 30000 flights. Some times it vary due to various factors.

28,000 flights take off from US airports every day. Which equates to around 850000 flights taking off every month. Planes often make several trips between their destinations every day that they operate.
