Alcoholism is not based on the number of drinks one consumes in a night, it is about being 'addicted' to the alcohol itself, or drinking too much for ones body on a regular basis.

It's not a number. Alcoholics feel like they need to get drunk when drinking, and they feel drinking is something they do to feel normal.

An alcoholic isn't necessarily defined by the amount of drinks a person has a night, but rather their dependency towards it, how it affects their career, relationships with others, etc. Some alcoholics do drink extremely frequently (like 30 a day), but others might just have one or two but are defined as alcoholics.

There isn't a set number. You could have one drink a night and still be an alcoholic. If you can't stop drinking or you cant go a day without drinking you should get some help to stop with your addiction. Alcoholics drink because they like the way the booze makes them feel not because they're addicted to the booze.
