Pressure from a new crown should last about 24 to 48 hours. This gives the crown time to settle and yourself time to get use to having something new in your mouth.

The prince becomes king only at the loss of his father. And while he mourns his father, he takes on new responsibilities. And while the pressure he assumes with his new crown may subside over time, it never really goes away, for heavy is the head that wears the crown.

I had a crown put in two weeks ago at 8:00 AM and it was pretty sore for the rest of the day, especially when I chewed. The next day it was better, but still tender. The following day, I had no pain, so it lasted two days.

You can expect to be pain for a week or two afterwards. Your gums are most likely quite irritated from the procedure. Call dentist with you concerns.
