It depends. Some recoveries take as little as a few weeks, some maybe months. Even without complications, it's imporant to stay off your feet as much as possible.

If not done laparoscopically, expect recovery of at least 2-4 weeks and avoidance of heavy lifting for at least 6 weeks.
