i believe the geforce2 has a peripheral in it. such as it is dual core and it may also mean its x2 speed but 400 could mean mbs or its speed. i have a geforce dual 1gb 8400 gt its pretty good.. but i dont think i have an mx version of this videos graphics card for a computer.

The GeForce 2 MX400 has a much higher clock speed than the baseline MX. I personally owned the MX 200 - it has ample power for older videogames and light video processing(midline). Depending on your computer specs the MX400 may be able to play DVD's while the MX may not. Depending on the manufacture the MX400 will have more RAM.

The GeForce2 MX 400 is a newer line then the GeForce MX. The 400 tells you which of several versions it is. Both the GeforceMX and GeForce2MX lines are drastically out of date, with most built in cards performing better. By todays standards, there is no difference between the two
