If it is your mother's first cousin, that would make it your second cousin. If it is your mother's second cousin, that would make he or she your third cousin. If it is your mother's third cousin, then he or she would be your fourth cousin, etc, and so on.

Everyone on here is wrong. This is a common mistake. The real answer is this person is your first cousin once removed.

Your mother's cousin would be your second cousin. It's pretty complicated, isn't it? Honestly, I didn't know what that was until recently, when I found out that I had second cousins myself.
