First of all, your container must have a good drainage system. You cannot leave rubber plants sitting in water that collects in saucer or such(if you have container sitting in one) when you water them. Do not overwater; give them a hefty drink and allow to dry out between waterings. The leaves in the plants hold moisture, also.

Full grown up rubber plants should be watered twice in a week in the dry season [march to may in tropical area] and once in a week for the rest of the year[when there is no rain for ten consecutive days].
