A non dwarfed variety of the Thuja tree can grow as fast as eighty centimeters in its early youth. This speed begins to taper downward around the seventh to fifteenth year of life. At this point it is approximately one half its original speed. Frequent trimming can reduce the amount of growth.

It would depend on the species and of course the climatic conditions of the area. On the average arbovitaes grow about 3 to 4 feet per year.

As fast as can as long as you keep it watered and plant it in the right location. Make sure the soil is not red clay, or too sandy. All a little fertilizer and away from wind. Don't plant it where a bunch of rowdy children play, or where dogs run around all over the place.

A Green Giant Arborviate is a great fast growing hedge plant. Many people ask if can really grow 3' per year. Well, it does and it is also durable which seperates it from other real fast growing trees. Picture this...it does grow 3' per year.
