You can take a stick of butter that is in the package and place it on the butter boat and place it in the cabinet. All you do is unwrap the package, use what you need and then wrap it up again. This is nice for people who like their butter soft.

A butter boat has a bottom area where you place water and the butter goes in a container that fits on top. The water keeps the butter from spoiling.

Although i seldom use it, but it works by protecting butter from spreading around especially when you take it out of fridge and it can melt. Also, it can be used for servings.
