B2B supply chain management works the same way as a regular chain but there are actually a few main players that are dependent on one another. Therefore, communication is forward and backward.

A company "X" needs to buy wood, and it goes to a retailer that sells everything for a price. You as a company order the retailer and he goes to company "Y" which is in a wood industry and buys the wood from them and sells it back to you for a price plus interest to cover his profits.

This just means it is a back to back supply chain. In other words this is one business supplying another business with something they need in the same industry as the first business.

Well, because it is simply supply chain management. B2B means back to back so basically the supply chain is working from one player to another in a backward forward fashion.

In business, suppliers often request references before opening an account to supply you. Sometimes they inspect you, or your books. Initially you pay by cash/card, then you build trust on their terms. Business is trust, eventually you just make a phone call, the goods arrive, you pay after 30 days.
