How do you unlock a V3I?

You first need a program called P2K Easy Tools 3.9, than you open it, select the cellphone model (in that case V3I), click on the "locks" tab, check unlock, check default lock and security code, and unlock it, than after it's unlocked, you can you use a GSM carrier's SIM card.

The locking mechanism on the V3I runs in software, not firmware -- this is a major bug with the system. All you actually need to do is unplug it, remove the battery, and leave overnight. In the morning, it will be unlocked!
