How do you treat centipede grass in NC?

Answer by  case (1261)

This is hard to say without knowing what symptoms you are trying to treat. Sometimes it is very beneficial to hire a professional to come spray the yard. They can treat a wide range of issues and you can see results in a short time frame.

When late February arrives, you may treat lawns to prevent new weeds and get rid of old ones. Fertilize once or twice a year with nitrogen fertilizer. Apply. 5 to 1. 0 pounds of nitrogen per 1,000 square feet. A 5. 5 PH is the norm for centipede grass.

Centipede grass in NC can be controlled by using a fertilizer twice a year but the best method is to make sure it is well watered and planted for it's proper use. Centipede grass loves warm moist weather and is why it thrives in the south. It is not recommended for high traffic or lots of pets.

Well you will want to use another fertilizer that is enriched with vitamins and chlorophyll. This will help the grass become healthier over time. Also, just watering the grass with lemon water will help.
