How do you translate a name?

Like is "Juanita" the Spanish version of "Jennifer"?

A more exact translation of Juanita would be Joan, Jean, or Jeannette, not Jennifer or Jessica, since Juanita is the feminine form of Juan, which most closely translates to John.

Names, themselves, can not be translated. If your name is Jennifer in English, your name is Jennifer in Spanish as well, or Chinese for that matter. Still, there are versions of names in many languages. There is no rule for this. Juanita is most definitely not the Spanish version of Jennifer though.
