There is a vacuum booster located on the firewall close to the steering colulm. There is also vacuum from the intake manifold. Trace the lines one at a time to the source, and replace them. Normally a vacuum line gets worn and hard over time that allows the system to leak.

Short answer is, you can't. The low pressure (referred to as vacuum) in the carburetor is provided when the intake strokes in the engine pull air through the carburetor's venturi, which causes the air to increase speed and decrease pressure. There isn't a mechanical device inside the carb that creates vacuum.

Spray carb cleaner or starting fluid around where you think the leak is and locate the leak. Next remove the hose in which the leak is coming from and replace it with new hose. It is a relatively easy task so good luck on restoring your vaccuum on your chevy k10.

vacuum booster is located on firewall close to steering column. Remove hose that the leak is coming from to replace with new hose. Line and trace one at a time to replace them. Vacuums get worn out when and results in leaks from the hose.
