How do you remove the engine in a GEO Metro?

The basic process consists of draining all the fluids, disconnecting all fuel/electric/coolant lines, and removing the motor mounts bolts. I recommend buying an overhaul manual for more specific instructions.

put the car on jack stands,remove the hood and unbolt all bolts and wires.Remove motor mounts. hook chain hoist to engine. hoist engine out.

First remove the hood that makes working on it easier .Next put the caron jack stands and make sure they are sucure.Remove the motormount bolts that will allow the engine to come out.
