How do you read your Pap smear results?

Mine says that there are partially obscuring red blood cells and partially obscuring inflammation.

Your doctor hould be the one to go over your pap smear results with you. They are the ones who are qualified and educated enough to tell you what your results mean and if there is anything you should be concerned about.

Your doctor should have sent you an explanation of these results. If they did not, you should call the office and ask to speak to your doctor's nurse for a further explanation. You may have some tissue inflammation which was partially obscuring the area the doctor normally gets samples from.

Your doctor should be able to help you read your results. If there is anything unusual they will call you. The inflammation is a pretty common finding. I would call them about the red blood cells though.

The doctor / physician is the one who reads it to you, don't try to read it yourself. Ask your doctor if you do not understand what the results mean.
