warm up the engine,remove all sparkplugs from the engine and disabling the ignition system,Place the compression tester in the sparkplug holes and crank the starter,Evaluate the test results by comparing these four numbers to recommended manufacturer specifications,Compare the compression numbers to see if they are within 10 PSI of eachother

Buy a compression tester. Then you pull the plug of the cylinder that you are going to check then you disable the ignition so the engine turns over but doesn't start. Crank the engine over a few times till the compression tops out. Write down the amount and repeat this for each cylinders.
