You can make money recycling by returning your bottles to a redemption center or by returning large pieces of metal to a scrap yard to turn it in for a profit. Recycle old or broken jewelry to a pawn shop of jewelry store for some quick cash. Clear out garages for people for cash payment then donate the items.

For things like containers made of glass, plastic, or aluminum, you can find local recyclers in your city that pay cash by the container or by weight.

If your state has a fee for returning bottles and cans then you can make some money by recycling. You can collect bottles and cans at work or from family members who don't turn them in. If you paid for the cans that you are returning you aren't making any money since they charge you a returnable bottle fee.
