You can make a liquid barometer by using a small glass container, a ruler, modeling clay, a straw, and Isopropyl Alcohol.

Put water(preferably colored) in a glass bottle until about 3/4 of the way filled. Thread a transparent drinking straw through wine-cork and cap bottle. Watch liquid level in straw.

You need a liquid, a long container, and another container. You fill the long container and turn it upside down inside of the other container and mark off measurements on the long container. If you really want to make a proper one, then you should really ask a chemistry teacher.
