You can bread things and fry them or bake them. You get two plates and in the first one you crack an egg and beat it. In the second pan you put your bread crumbs, seasoning or whatever you want to act as your crust. You take you meat dip it in the beaten egg and then in crust mix.

No you do not what will make the breading work on it is when you put it in the oven make sure it is uncovered so the stem wont bother the breading.
