In September, dig out a clump, place two gardening forks back-to-back at a seam and gently pull apart. The root will separate and you can replant each piece.

It is best to divide your lilies in the fall, when they have had all summer to gather strength in the bulbs. Dig up the clump with a shovel, then dunk and swish in water to loosen soil. Pry apart bulbs. Replant upright and water well.

To separate your Stargazer Lilies, you need to dig them out of the ground and you can either cut the bulbs with a knife, or just break them where they separate. They are pretty hardy, so once they are separated, they can be put right back into the ground for new growth the following year.

Look specifically for the offshoot bulbs. In the fall, dig a wide area around the baby offshoots and remove them from the ground. Replant offshoots in new area.

Well, you can go about dividing them by looking through the linkages between the lilies. Seperate by tens or fives accordingly, however you see fit. But do not break the important branches.

Lilies are easy to seperate just dig them up and the roots will be all tangeld together just untagle them and plant them wherever else you want them and they will grow. That is oe of the beauties of the lily and the iris the only thing is usually you will need to seperate them in the spring.

Carefully dig up the clump of bulbs and tease them apart. The small lily bulbs can be planted independently and will bloom as woon as they are big enough.
