First of all you need to get to Polland (via air, train, car) and Auschwitz is located in the Southern part of Poland, near Katowice city, very close to the border with Slovakia and the Czech Republic. Auschwitz is about 196 miles away from Warsaw, the capital city of Poland, and close to Krakow airport (about 40 miles).

Many local hotels provide taxi service to Auschwitz but it can also be reached by bus. The buses are fairly inexpensive and can be found at the main Krakow bus station. Once in Auschwitz, the grounds are covered by foot.
