The dermatologist can cut it off. I've had a few done. They'll do it on your initial visit and, depending on the size, it might not even require stitches. They can scrape them flat to remove them.
The only way to remove a mole is to make an appointment with a dermatologist and have it burned or frozen off of your body. This is because (unlike freckles) moles go beneath the surface of your skin and must be physically removed.
You might be able to get rid of it with an over-the-counter medication that you can purchase at a pharmacy. If that does not work, see your family doctor or a dermatologist.
