If you are the owner of the vehicle, you must show proof (title, registration, etc. ) and pay the towing and impound fees. Your insurance may help with some or all of the costs so check your policy or call your agent. You take care of all this business at the impound lot, which is run by a police officer.

You will need to go to the impound lot with two forms of identification, including photographic ID. You will also need to prove that you are the owner of the vehicle in question. For that reason you should bring the Certificate of Title. Make certain that the name on the title matches with your ID.
