My suggestion is to call a professional carpet cleaning company because most of them clean upholstery as well. They can treat stains, remove odors and disinfect as well.

First you should get you one of the hand held carpet cleaners and clean the area on the couch that the cat relieved herself. Then, spray some lysol on the area to disinfect it.

If the cover can be removed it would be best to remove it. Create a paste of oxi clean and water, making a paste slightly more liquid than toothpaste, and work into soiled area. Wash area throughly and let air dry. If you cannot remove cover, use a steam cleaner, with pet stain treatment, to clean the area.
