A yeast infection is often treated with creams, but if you are on your menstrual cycle you can treat them with a oral pill. Oral pills for yeast infections are not as productive, but can be found over the counter at your local pharmacy. Many mild infections will 'wash out' at the end of your cycle.

Though it isn't convenient to treat a yeast infection while you are on your period it can still be done with the same methods. A one day treatment may make it easier and is available over the counter at most drug stores. Obviously during treatment you will want to use pads instead of tampons.

As strange as this sounds you can use plain yogurt if a store bought medicine doesn't work. If you use a tampon you can apply the yogurt to the tampon before insertion. If you can't do it that way try to apply it manually with your fingers or maybe a syringe.

If you've never had a yeast infection before, see your doctor to make sure you're diagnosing it correctly. If you're sure you have a yeast infection and can't wait to get rid of it until you're off your period, you can ask your doctor about a prescription for a pill you take orally that can cure a yeast infection.
