How do you convert analog audio to digital?

Connect the sound out port on audio device (i.e. cassette player) to sound in port on digital device (i.e. desktop computer). Go to a sound recorder (such as Audacity), and click on record. At the same time, start playing the sound on the analog device. As the sound is output to the computer, it will record it, making analog digital!

Some sort of analog to digital converter is needed. Analog audio is recorded on tapes, vinyl, or other media. You need a device to capture the signal to your PC.
