A bowling ball's spin comes from the bowler's wrist. When a bowler cups the bowling ball on the lane's approach the bowler's wrist is directly under the bowling ball. The closer the bowler's wrist is to the bowler's inside leg the more constant spin is produced when the bowler "flicks" the ball unto the lane.

Depending on the curve you want on your ball, go to a pro shop and have them drill the ball for your desired ball path.
