Basically, you're going to set it up as an extra monitor for the computer. You need a special cable with 3 plug AV on one end for the television, and a monitor connection for your computer on the other, which will depend on your computer, but a picture of the connector will help when you go to the store.

If you have a high definition television, and your pc or laptop has an HDMI port, the easiest way to do it is to invest in a HDMI cable and plug one end into each device. Change the source of your tv using your remote to HDMI, and you're set.

I often use a laptop connected to internet for downloading films and playing video. As I watch films at wide plasma panel I use HDMI cable to connect both devices.

To connect a TV to a PC you must have a TV that has a monitor function so you can connect the monitor to the computer, if the TV does not have that type of connection, you can buy a kit that can adapt the TV to the PC.
