If you are comparing brands for tires, first look at the tire treads. Tires with a rating of 400 and above have a good rating. Check the traction rating. AA is the highest rating for traction.

Expected tire life is rated by miles (50,000 miles vs 80,000 miles). The tread pattern dictates what weather conditions the tire is good for (dry and rainy for summer, all weather for year-round, off-roading tires for trucks). These things must all be considered when buying new tires.

Rather simple, really. First you compare the treadwear of the tires. A treadwear rating of 400 or higher is that of an incredible tire! Then you want to check the traction score. Third check out the temperature rating, the special features of each tire and then finally check out the reputation of the manufacturer.

Look at the Uniform Tire Quality Grade (UTQG). This shows you the government's rating for treat, traction, and temperature the tires can withstand. You may not care about temperature depending on where you live, but the UTQG is a start.

First, compares sizes. You need tires around the same size as the ones you currently have unless you want to modify the suspension. Second, compare treads. Various treads are used for different weather conditions. For example, if you drive on bad roads, or offroad, you'll want different tires than you'd use on good roads.

Well basically just check the warranty on each one and also check how the built is. Your better off getting all season tires which will stay great for the long run.

I would research them and then go around to places and get estimates for the ones that you want to use. That is the best way that I can think of.
