First, wipe down the toddler with baby wipes. Then, gather and put away the paint. Put his paintings in a place to lie flat and dry. Then, wipe up the table and floor with a soapy washcloth. The faster the better, even washable paint can dry onto surfaces and be difficult to clean.

Cleaning up after a toddler that has been fingerpainting is not difficult. The paint should be watersoluble and is therefore relatively easy to remove from hands (and also from paintbrushes) with some warm (not hot!) water and a mild soap. Covering your table beforehand with plastic allows you to easily remove and trow it away after use!

A good idea to prevent cleaning up after them in the future is to purchase a cheap plastic drop cloth from the hardware store. Lay it on your table and then when the kids are done painting just take it away and there will only be paint on the kids!

A great way that is fast and fun, is to throw them in the bath. Turn on the shower and they can watch the colors run down the drain!
