You can make a paste out of car polish and water, rub it lightly on the disc with a non-abrasive cloth, let it dry to a haze, buff it off then use a streak-free glass cleaner to clean the excess wax off. This should clear up some of the scratches.

Use a clean, dry, soft cloth and wipe from the inside (center of the disc) to the outside edge in a straight line. Avoid wiping the disc using a circular motion.

A video games disc is very easy to clean but you need to be gentle. The disc can be cleaned by wiping it with any cloth that is soft. If the cloth is coarse it can end up scratching the disc and ruining it. Use the same kind of cloth used to clean glasses.

If your talking about just removing dirt then a disk can simple be clean with a soft damp lint free cloth. Just be careful not to press to hard and to wipe from the center hole toward the edge. Then dry with another soft lint free cloth.

Take the disc to your local dedicated game store such as gamestop or gamecrazy. They can usually clean the disc for you for free or for a very small fee such as a couple dollars.
