Do not clean topaz with a home ultrasonic cleaner. The safest way to clean topaz is with warm, soapy water and remember to be gentle. Topaz can be scratched and chipped by mishandling. Be careful to avoid this.

All I've ever cleaned mine with is very mild soap and water. There are also various gemstone cleaners on the market but I haven't noticed any difference between them.

Many jewelers will clean something and check any setting it is in for a minimal fee. Barring that, you can take a very soft, damp cloth and gently clean the stone. Topaz is a hard stone and won't scratch as easily as others might.
