How do you change the back brakes in a Silhouette?

It will depend on what style brakes you have. If you have rear drum then you must remove the hold down pins and springs in order to remove the shoes. If you have rear disk ( the Easier of the 2) then you must remove the caliper and caliper bracket then the rotor then replace the pads/rotors.

Remove rear tires abd rotors. Rotors will need to be resurfaced or replaced. Remove the bolts holding the brake in place and take off pads and replace with new. Bolt everthing back together and put rotors and tires back on. Pump brakes and make sure lug nuts are tight before test driving.

Remove the two bolts holding the caliper on. Using a specialty tool, twist/turn the caliper piston back into the caliper. Remove the cage and rotor. Lube contact points and reinstall.
