This is a more complicated procedure than can be explained in a few sentences. A recommendation would be to contact Honda and use their procedures for coil replacement. Always use the recommended manufacturer's advice concerning replacement parts.

When I changed the coil on my five hp Honda engine I simply removed a small plate on the side opposite to the carb. The head, and oil case must be disassembled as well. From here you are able to remove the valve and then replace the coil. Once you have replaced the coil, reinsert the valve, and reassemble.

Remove the spark plug wire, shroud, and any linkage connected to upper engie for access to flywheel. Remove flywheel with flywhhel puller. Coil will be located under the shroud or under the flywheel. Locate coil wire, disconnect wire, relace coil, and reassemble using proper torque to flywheel.
