How do you change a brake lamp?

Start by removing the light assembly. Usually there are just some screws holding it on. Then the bulb socket can be turned and pulled out. Then replace the bad bulb.

You are going to open the trunk and you will see some plastic along the back of the trunk that needs to come out. Then you will see the lights.

Purchase the correct light from your local parts store. NAPA Auto, Advance Auto Parts, and Auto Zone are popular stores. Check in a Haynes manual, Chilton manual, or your car's service manual on how to remove the cover from the light. Some cars allow you to replace the bulb from inside the trunk, some from the exterior.
