Celebrating a life should be something that people consider and do. It is easy to see how depressing funerals can be so in order to celebrate the person's life instead of a dreary funeral, you could present a display or slideshow of videos or pictures from that person's life. Festive colors also are helpful.

Some people actually throw a party, serving drinks and sharing fond memories of the departed with others that were blessed to be a part of this person's life. Or, you can do things that you used to do with the departed in memory of them.
