For sore joints or muscles, rub a good ointment on it, like Icy-Hot, Horse Lineament, or Biofreeze, then wrap it for a while. Also, stretching the limb said joint is connected to is a good way to relieve pain, just do not overdo it. If ointment is not available, you can also use ice packs then heating pads in cycles.

Take some form of Ibuprofin or Aleve. (Taking this prior also helps to lessen pain afterwards) Ice down enflamed or sore areas. Use of an ointment such as Icy/Hot.

You could take some over the counter medicines like Advil or Tylenol. You could also relax your body by taking a bath or getting somebody to massage you. You could just rest also.

I had a really active day yesterday. I will start the day with a hot, salt water soak in the tub to relieve my sore joints. Afterwards I'll apply the arthritis cream around my joints, that ususally help. I'll give it a chance to work while I'm in the bed.
