How do you calculate the circumference of a circle?

I need more than just the formula, I need directions on how to solve the formula.

C=(pi)*d d=diameter of the circle(length from one side of the circle to the other going through the center. Take the diameter and multiply by pi(3.14). That is your answer.

The formula for the circumference of a circle is C = pi*D, where D is the diameter and pi is about 3.14. If the diameter of the circle is 5 inches, for example, just multiply 5 * 3.14 = 15.7. The circumference is 15.7 inches.

Measure the radius of the circle and multiply this radius by 2 and multiply again by 3.14 which is the value of pi.

To get circumference, multiply the diameter (or two times the radius) by pi (3.1415962 only if you need a decimal answer, otherwise leave the answer as "something times pi").
