How do you calculate midpoint?

Answer by  esteban (1334)

To find the coordinates of the midpoint, add the x's and the y's and divide both sums by 2. Like this: ((x1+x2)/2 , (y1+y2)/2 )

The formula to find out the midpoint is: (x+x1/2),(y+y1/2). The midpoint you end up with is in the format of a coordinate (X,Y). You do it this way because it is essentially the average of both points.
