How do you adjust the valves on an ATV?

This is usually a very simple job. First, tilt the ATV up so it's on it's handlebars. This way, you'll have easy access to the drip pan. The valves are located under the drip pan. You can remove the drip pan with an adjustable wrench. Once this is out of the way, tighten or loosen the valves until perfection.

You need to know the proper valve lash or gap that they are to be set at. The process would involve removing the cover that gives you access to the valves and turning adjusting nuts. You will need a feeler gauge as well.
