How do I tell my wife I want a divorce?

When I told my first husband I wanted a divorce I was direct and straight forward. He came home from work one day and I just told him this wasn't working for me and I'd rather he just move out. It hurt us both but it was the best way. Quick and painful.

Talkto her best friend's husband first so that he can tell her best friend and from there she can tell your wife, who possibly will file first and remove the need to tell her. Telling her in a public place will lower the risk of powerful emotions in her and help her keep composure.

The best way to tell your wife that you want a divorce is to sit down and to talk to her. Tell her that you do not think that things are working out and that you do not see that things are getting better. Hopefully just by talking, you will be able to get what you want.

It will not be easy telling her you want a divorce. Sit her down and tell her the truth and why you want one. Honesty is always the best way to go. It would turn out worse if you lie to her and she finds out later. Make the talk between just you and her, in private
