You can do a search for your name online. Search for "origin of 'your name'". You can also search baby name books or databases as they usually list the origin of the name.

Begin with your parents and family: your name may have been created from another name, combining some names, or other creative method, and this IS the origin of unique names. Ask if it comes from another language, culture or ethnic group, and search in that language. Some names are untraceable.
