Most modern car batteries are not meant to be repaired. They are sealed lead acid batteries meaning that they are sealed at the factory and therefore require special machinery to open. However, most auto parts stores will gladly test your battery for you. Usually if you buy the battery from that store they have free installation as well.

Really there is no way to repair a battery. They are not something you want to be messing around with and usually they are not serviceable. Typically it is best just to recycle them and buy a new one.

You cannot repair a car battery. You can replace or fill it with fluids if required. Be careful when removing the battery from the vehicle. Make sure you remove the Negative cable first. Then the positive cable. Also remove the mounts that keep the battery from moving. Installing just follow this backwards: Mounts, Positive Cable, and then Negative cable.

Using rag clean the battery around the hole. Melt the plastic and place it on the hole,it will bond with the battery. Heat up the area safely. If the hole is closed, turn the battery right side up. Fill it with water,if it is not a sealed unit.
