A good and effective method for removing adhered postage stamps is to hold the item with the stamp attached directly above steam. The steam will moisten the adhesive glue and allow you to peel off the stamp without ruining the either the stamp nor the item the stamp is attached.

To remove Postage stamps you can put the stamps in a bowl of water and keep them for 3 to 4 hours. The stamps can then be peeled off easily.
