How do I remove and replace an ignition switch?

Remove the steering wheel cover,lock plate,steering wheel, horn and turn signal assembly. Remove the retaining screw. Detach the wiring and remove the ignition switch from the cylinder. Insert the new ignition switch into the cylinder. Reattach the wiring and insert the retaining screw and tighten fully. Reassemble the steering column.

First you need to remove the plastic casing around the entire steering column and the ignition. Next you need to make sure you have the correct replacement ignition before removing the old one. Under the screws and the wiring holding the ignition in place, then redo those connections and screws with the new ignition. Then replace the plasctic casing.

this is how to remove the ignition switch. first you remove the steering wheel from the shaft then you can get to the ignition
