Dig a hole just deep enough for the rootball, leaving the sidewalls rough. Do not add amendments to the excavated soil unless it is very sandy. Remove the tree from the balling material and hold upright in the hole while backfilling with the soil. Tamp soil gently and water.

They are very large trees so you should plant them carefully. You should use some fertilizer and compost for the soil. This will allow the plant to grow and thrive.

When planting any tree or shrub, you must dig a hole twice the depth and width. Add plenty of water and high quality soil when adding the tree. Keep moist.

Dig a hole twice the size of the tree roots, make sure to add plenty of fertilizer specifically for evergreens and spread apart the root ball. Plant the tree and make sure to water it thouroughly. Remember to water frequently throughout the next year until the roots have been established.

Dig your hole not too much wider than the ball itself, and about one and a half times as deep. Remove any wire basket if there is one, remove the burlap from around the trunk and sink the ball into the hole.

Dig hole so that tree is at ground level or slightly higher. Always remove burlap before planting. If root ball is falling apart, take burlap off when already in hole.
