How do I organize a clothes closet?

There are many ways to organize a clothes closet. The best way, I find, is to sort by purpose; keep your casual clothes together, your work clothes together, etc. So that when you want to put an outfit together, all the pieces are close. You could also sort by season, frequency of use, or any number of things.

You should put all the different pants together, and the same for t-shirts, sweaters. It would also be a good idea to separate formal and casual clothing.
